§ 34-35. Use of funds.

  • (a)

    The county council shall approve the amount of moneys from the county budget in accordance with the arts in public places master plan. The plan shall be presented to the council, outlining the proposed arts projects and associated costs for the upcoming year, by the county cultural arts advisory board.

    (b)

    Appropriations under this article shall be considered as separately budgeted revenue for eligible county building projects and spaces designated by this article. These funds shall not constitute any part of the fiscally appropriated budget for noncapital, recurring expenditures to cultural art agencies as defined in the cultural arts facilities element of the county comprehensive plan.

    (c)

    Moneys generated from appropriations under this article shall be used for the selection, commissioning, acquisition, administration and installation of works of art.

    (d)

    Private contributions to the public art program shall be deposited into a public art fund.
