§ 110-707. Collection of taxes.

  • The finance director shall collect taxes levied pursuant to this article in the same manner as other taxes are collected and shall pay the same within the time and in the manner prescribed by law into a fund established for the district. It shall remain the duty of the state comptroller to assess and levy such taxes on all the railroads and telegraph and telephone properties situated in said district in the amount of such levy and to collect taxes thereon in the same manner as the comptroller is required by law to assess and collect taxes for state and county purposes, and remit the same to the finance director of the county.
