Chapter 62. HISTORIC PRESERVATION |
Article IV. CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS |
§ 62-101. Activities requiring certificate.
A certificate of appropriateness issued by the historic preservation board shall be required for any of the following activities:
(1)
Any alteration requiring a building permit which may change the exterior appearance of an individually designated historic building or structure or contributing property in a designated historic district.
(2)
Demolition of any building or structure, constructed prior to January 1, 1946 deemed eligible for designation as a significant historic resource as determined by the historic preservation officer, in accordance with section 62-73; or demolition of an individual building or structure that has been previously issued a certificate of designation; or demolition of a contributing property in a designated historic district.
(3)
The relocation of any building or structure into, out of or within the boundaries of a designated historic districts, sites or individually designated historic resource.
(4)
Any new construction of principal or accessory buildings, structures, or additions within the boundaries of a designated historic district or an individually designated historic resource.
