§ 1009. Adoption of merit system.

Latest version.

The county manager shall be responsible for the preparation and presentation to the council of the proposed merit system complete with classification, pay plan or amendments thereto. The initial proposal shall be presented prior to the adoption of the first budget by the charter government.

Sections 1007—1011 have been amended by Res. No. 2016-094, Amend. No. 1, adopted Nov. 8, 20016 which deleted former § 1007 entitled "Employee representatives", that derived from Ch. 70-966, Laws of Florida (Sp. Acts), Art X, § 1007. Sections 1008 and 1009 subsequently have been renumbered as §§ 1007 and 1008. Furthermore former § 1010 entitled "Retirement system" which derived from Ch. 70-966, Laws of Florida (Sp. Acts), Art X, § 1010 was deleted which subsequently renumbered § 1011 to 1009, as herein set out above.
