§ 901.1. Election procedures.

  • (1)

    Except as otherwise provided by this charter, elections for county council members shall be held at the time of the general election in every even year.

    (2)

    Except as otherwise provided by this charter, candidates for county offices shall qualify in accordance with the laws of Florida.

    (3)

    In the event that more than two candidates have qualified for any single seat under the chartered government, a primary election shall be held at the time of the first state primary election prior to the general election and providing no candidate receives a majority of the votes cast, the two candidates receiving the highest vote shall be placed on the ballot for election at the time of the general election.
