§ 86-265. Appropriate alternate eligible lists.

  • Certification shall ordinarily be made from a list established for the particular class in which the vacancy exists. If no such list exists or the list contains an insufficient number of eligibles for certification purposes, the human resources director may certify names from an appropriate alternate eligible list. Such a list shall be for a class of the same or higher pay level with qualification requirements substantially equivalent or superior to the class in which the vacancy exists. In the event there is no list or alternate list, the human resources director may use qualified candidates from a previous process provided the process was no more than six months earlier, and it was from a process for a class of the same or higher pay level with qualification requirements substantially equivalent or superior to the class in which the vacancy exists.
