§ 86-114. Overtime pay or compensatory time.
(a)
Overtime pay shall be given to eligible employees in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act. Compensatory time shall not be granted unless express written permission is given by the county manager.
(b)
Hours worked during a work period shall include all time an employee is required to be on duty on the employer's premises or at a prescribed workplace, including all approved paid leave and holidays.
(c)
Classes in which employees are eligible to receive premium pay for time worked in excess of regularly scheduled work hours on a work period shall be determined annually as part of the adoption of the compensation plan, after considering the Fair Labor Standards Act.
(d)
Interpretation of work periods and eligible classes described by the Fair Labor Standards Act rests with the human resources director and the county attorney.
