§ 82-49. Motor vehicles.

  • (a)

    Motor vehicles that are not licensed for highway use, including off-highway vehicles, are prohibited except:

    (1)

    Where necessary to provide access for mobility impaired persons to a designated campsite; however, use of an unlicensed motor vehicle is prohibited from one hour after sunset to one hour before sunrise; or

    (2)

    An organized activity involving the use of unlicensed motor vehicles through the issuance of a special use authorization.

    (b)

    Motor vehicles licensed for highway use are allowed on conservation lands provided that:

    (1)

    Said vehicles shall be operated by licensed drivers only on roads designated as open for motor vehicles; and

    (2)

    Said vehicles shall not exceed any posted speed limits. In the absence of any posted speed limits, the speed limit on conservation lands shall be 10 miles per hour.

    (c)

    "Swampbuggies" and similar vehicles are prohibited on all conservation lands.

    (d)

    Except as may be necessary to accommodate access by mobility impaired persons to a designated campsite or other officially established amenity, motor vehicles shall only be parked in designated areas. No person shall park any vehicle in a manner that obstructs a road, gate, or firelane/fireline.
