§ 62-182. Removal of a property from eligibility for property tax exemption.

  • For the removal of a property from eligibility for the property tax exemption as provided herein, justification shall be provided that the property has been damaged by accidental or natural causes to the extent that the historic integrity of the features, materials, appearance, workmanship and environment, or archaeological integrity which made the property eligible for listing in the National Register or designation under the provisions of the local preservation of this article or local jurisdiction ordinance of any municipality have been lost or so damaged that restoration is not feasible. Such removal may only be accomplished by a determination made by the county council at a public hearing after due public notice in which a recommendation on such removal is made by the historic preservation officer.
