§ 62-103. Certificate not required for certain work.

Latest version.
  • A certificate of appropriateness shall not be required for painting and ordinary maintenance to the exterior of a building as defined in section 62-1. Upon application for a building permit, said application shall be reviewed by the historic preservation officer to determine whether or not the proposed project will change the exterior appearance of the designated building or structure. If there will be a change to the exterior appearance, then the owner shall apply for a certificate of appropriateness. Neither the historic preservation officer nor the historic preservation board shall consider interior arrangement or design when reviewing an application for a certificate of appropriateness unless such change effects the exterior appearance of the building.
