§ 46-96. Contingency transport.

  • Emergency medical transport authorized by this section shall be referred to as contingency emergency medical transport. The EMA division director may authorize, within his or her sole discretion, a qualified nontransport COPCN holder to provide contingency emergency medical transport under the transport COPCN of the county upon filing of a satisfactorily complete county application form to provide such service. The medical director shall establish protocols governing any authorized medical transport in accordance with section 46-86. Authorization granted under this section is discretionary and may be limited, conditioned, suspended or revoked at any time, without cause, by the EMA division director. Authorization granted under this section shall not be construed to grant any license, right or property interest to a nontransport COPCN holder but shall serve as an additional resource to the county in the performance of its transport COPCN and subject to its sole control. Additional limitations and conditions may be directed at any time by the council.
