§ 42-37. District no. 4.

  • The boundaries of county council district no. 4 shall be as follows:

    Beginning at the intersection of the North line of Section 32, Township 12 South, Range 32 East, Volusia County, Florida and the Low Water Line of the Atlantic Ocean, said point being on the Northerly Boundary of Volusia County as described in Chapter 7.64, Florida State Statutes; thence run southerly, along said Low Water Line, approximately 11.82 miles, to its intersection with the easterly projection of the northerly line of Block 16, Replat of Ortona Park, Section Two as recorded in Map Book 23, Page 226 of the Public records of Volusia County, Florida; thence run westerly, along said projection and the North line of said Block 16 to the Northwest corner thereof; thence run South, along the West line of said Block 16, to its Southwest corner and a point on the North line of Ortona Park, Section Three as recorded in Map Book 23, Page 233 of the aforesaid Public Records; thence run westerly, along said North line to the northeasterly corner of Block 8 of said Ortona Park Section Three; thence run South along the East line of said Block 8 and continuing along the East line of Block 7 to its southeasterly corner thereof; thence run westerly, along the South line of said Block 7 to the southwesterly corner thereof; thence run northerly, along the West line of Block 7 and continuing along the West line of aforesaid Block 8 to the northwesterly corner thereof and the North line of said Ortona Park, Section Three; thence westerly, along said North line and its westerly projection to its intersection with to the main channel of the Halifax River; thence run southeasterly, along said channel of the Halifax River to the point where said channel intersects the easterly prolongation of the southerly line of Second Street (formerly known as Forest Avenue) as shown on the Mason and Carswell's map of the Town of Holly Hill, recorded in Map Book 2, Page 90, Public Records of Volusia County, Florida; thence westerly along said prolongation of the southerly line of Second Street and the southerly line of Second Street to the westerly right-of-way line of North Beach Street (formerly known as the Old Dixie Highway or Ormond-Daytona Beach Road); thence run southerly, along the westerly line of said highway to the centerline of Mason Avenue as shown on said map; thence westerly along said centerline of Mason Avenue to the westerly line of the Florida East Coast Railway right-of-way; thence northwesterly along said westerly line of the Florida East Coast Railway right-of-way to a point midway between Brentwood Drive (formerly known as Forest Avenue) and Third Street (formerly known as Wisconsin Avenue) as shown on said map of Mason and Carswell; thence southwesterly along said line midway between said Brentwood Drive and Third Street to its intersection with the centerline of Nova Road; thence run southerly, along said centerline, to its intersection with the centerline of Brentwood Drive; thence run westerly, along said centerline to its intersection with the centerline of Essex Road; thence run southerly, along said centerline, to its intersection with the centerline of Mason Avenue; thence run westerly, along said centerline, to its intersection with the centerline of Clyde Morris Boulevard; thence run southerly, along said centerline, to its intersection with the centerline of Bellevue Avenue in Section 19, Township 15 South, Range 33 East; thence run westerly, along the centerline of Bellevue Avenue to its intersection with the centerline of Interstate Highway #95 (State Road #9); thence run South, along said centerline, to its intersection with the centerline of Interstate Highway #4 (State Road 400); thence run southwesterly, along said centerline, to its intersection with the West line of Township 16 South, Range 32 East, Volusia County, Florida; thence run North, along said Township line to its intersection with the centerline of International Speedway Boulevard (U.S. Highway 92); thence run southwesterly, along said centerline, to its intersection with the East line of the Southwest ¼ (one-quarter) of Section 35, Township 16 South, Range 30 East; thence run North, along said East line, to the southeast corner of the Northwest ¼ (one-quarter) of said Section 35; thence run North, along the East line of said Northwest ¼ (one-quarter) to its intersection with a line that is 250.00 feet South of and parallel with the South line of Old DeLand—Daytona Brick Road, said line being the northerly line of Parcel 5 as described in Official Records Book 4027, Page 246 of the Public Records of Volusia County, Florida; thence run southwesterly, along the northerly line of said Parcel 5 and its westerly projection thereof to the centerline of Marsh Road; thence run northerly, along said centerline, to its intersection with Little Haw Creek; thence northeasterly, along said Creek, to its intersection with the North line of the South ½ (half) of the Southwest ¼ (one-quarter) of Section 26, Township 16 South, Range 30 East; thence run West, along said North line, to its intersection with the aforementioned centerline of Marsh Road; thence run northerly, along said centerline, to its intersection with the centerline of Daugharty Road; thence run southwesterly, along said centerline to its intersection with the centerline of State Road #11; thence run northerly, along said centerline, to a point on the North line of Section 25, Township 14 South, Range 29 East of aforesaid Volusia County, said point also being on the North boundary line of aforementioned Volusia County; thence run easterly, following said North boundary line, to its intersection with the Low Water Line of the Atlantic Ocean and the Point of Beginning of this description.
