§ 2-154. Department of public safety.

(a)

As provided in the Charter, there shall be a department of public safety. The department head of the department of public safety shall be the sheriff, who shall serve as the director.

(b)

The department of public safety shall be responsible for the control, operation and administration of the duties of law enforcement and such other duties as provided by state law.
