§ 2-41. Special meetings.
(a)
Pursuant to the county Charter and state law, special meetings of the county council may be held at any public place within the county. Special meetings may be held on call of the chair or two or more members of the county council. The county manager shall notify each member of the county council and shall give adequate public notice of the time, place and purpose of any special meeting in a daily newspaper of general circulation in the county at least one day prior to the holding of such meeting if such meeting is in the county seat. Such notice shall contain an agenda of all matters to be considered at the meeting. In emergency situations, the notice requirement set forth in this subsection may be waived, but immediate notice shall be given to the press and news media of such emergency meeting as soon as practical after the call for such emergency meeting.
(b)
If such special meeting is outside the county seat, notice requirements shall be as set forth in the county Charter, with publication of the notice of the meeting, and its agenda, at least one week prior to the meeting in a newspaper of general circulation within the county.
