§ 20-9. Law enforcement authority.
The authority and primary responsibility of the county for enforcement of this chapter is hereby delegated to the county manager, the beach safety director and to each beach patrol officer who is certified according to the law of the state as a law enforcement officer, provided that nothing in this section shall limit the law enforcement authority on the beach of the county department of public safety or any municipal police department. Each beach patrol officer, who is certified in law enforcement shall have complete police and law enforcement powers, and shall have the authority to enforce the provisions of all state and federal laws, rules and regulations, all county ordinances including particularly but without limitation the provisions of this chapter, and all municipal ordinances. Any conflict which may arise by a grant of authority under this chapter to more than one person shall be resolved by decision of the county manager.
