§ 110-119. Consideration of tentative assessment ordinance and hearing to consider tentative assessment roll.

  • (a)

    Upon completion of the plans and specifications, estimates of the costs and the tentative assessment roll relating to a project, the assessment coordinator shall file all of the above items with the county manager and the county manager shall publish once in a newspaper of general circulation in the county, a notice stating that the tentative assessment roll has been completed and is on file in the office of the county manager, and open to public inspection. Said notice shall also state that at a regular, special or adjourned meeting of said council, when the proposed ordinance is considered, on a certain day and hour, not earlier than 15 calendar days (excluding Sundays and legal holidays) from said publication, said council will hear all interested persons regarding the proposed ordinance, the proposed project or projects, the estimated costs thereof, the costs of the improvement to be assessed against each specially benefited lot or parcel and assessments contained in the tentative assessment roll.

    (b)

    At the time and place designated in the notices, the council shall conduct a public hearing on the tentative assessment ordinance and tentative assessment roll and may adopt or reject the same as provided by law.
